We’re excited to announce our new website has now gone live so welcome to our very first blog. We’ve worked hard to create a refreshed, online experience that is more modern & hopefully more user friendly. I discovered ceramics in my retirement and have the loveliest, busiest retirement but am mindful of also enjoying quality time with my lovely husband. He’s super supportive but basically, I’m a one-woman band & where I would love to be able to offer online sales, my products are one-off’s & stock changes rapidly, so time spent constantly updating a website would impinge greatly on time available for making … & our social life! Let me know what interests you though & I’ll send you pics of what’s available at that time.

We needed an up-to-date pic to use on our new homepage so took some of our ladies out for the day in search of an inspiring backdrop. With Caerphilly Castle right on our doorstep, with its unparalleled views, we didn’t have to look very far. Arguably it’s the most photographed landmark in Caerphilly but it’s not every day you see a line-up of ladies like this that’s for sure & they did turn a few heads. For those of you from further afield & not familiar with Caerphilly Castle then it’s the largest in Wales & the second largest in the UK after Windsor. It’s even got a leaning tower wonkier than the leaning tower of Pisa & that’s quite a claim to fame. Today it’s a popular tourist attraction & just a stone’s throw away from where our monthly craft markets are held.

Talking of craft markets, now Halloween is done & dusted we’ll be hurtling non-stop into the festive onslaught in readiness for the Christmas markets. We just love it… the festive atmosphere, the twinkly lights, the sights, the smells and of course the fabulous stalls with unique handcrafted crafts & gifts. It’s the perfect embodiment of Christmas spirit & invaluable in helping make people feel Christmassy. We’ll be in Caerphilly (Morrisons Car Park) on 21 & 28 November then we’ll be gearing up for the big one – a whole fun filled week in one of the huts in bustling Cardiff from 7-13 December. It’s our favourite time of year but preparing for these events can takes months of planning & making, it’s certainly the case with ceramics. We’ve still got a lot work to do but I think we’re on it!

Welcome to our new website!

p.s Yes, cheese is also synonymous with Caerphilly but did you know it was traditionally made by local farmers to use up surplus milk & became a lunch staple for miners as a quick way to replenish salt lost after long gruelling shifts underground.Every day is a school day!
